I love surprises in my inbox! Earlier this morning, I got a message from ExpoTv (more on them another time) saying that I won a contest sponsored by their site, and they were sending me a $25 amazon.com gift certificate. Sweet!

Within 10 minutes, they sent me the gift certificate (really just a verification code), I did a little shopping, and now am the proud owner of two new books!

Next on my reading list will be How to Read Literature like a Professor (cause mainly I read business type books and need to get some help on critical reading and analysis) and

The Imagineer’s Field Guide to Disneyland (cause it will get Patrick and I pumped for our trip out there this fall — more on that another time too).

I have a sign over a window in my kitchen that says:

Simple Pleasures:
The high point of my day is that moment when I get home to be with my dog.

Amos is my main man and I love having him around. I got him from Pawfect Match Rescue when he was right at 6 weeks old and he has been such a great dog. No one ever saw his mom or dad, but he appears to be equal parts German Shepard, fuzz and Adrian Monk. His neurosis is unreal and endearing…until he can’t find his Kong.

New blogs and first posts are always awkward, it’s too easy for them to sound like personal ads.

This blog is created to be a living memoir, a record of my life, so that one day I can look back and think…yeah the girl was alright.
