Yesterday at work we had our annual Thanksgiving potluck. The company provides the meat (this year it was roast beef and ham) and everyone chips in and brings a side dish. We had all the usual good stuff…stuffing, fried okra, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, manwiches… (manwiches are a company tradition).
Finally I had the chance to make my mom’s sausage dip for my co-workers, and it was a hit. It is one of those things that I actually can’t stand to eat anymore because I have made it so many times, but I get a lot of requests! If you need something quick and easy to take to your next gathering and you don’t want to walk in with a grocery store cookie tray and your tail tucked between your legs (again!), try out this easy-peasy recipe.
Sausage Dip (serves 2-10 depending on who is there…)
Ingredients:
1 roll sausage (Mom says this is 1 lb.)
8 oz cream cheese
16 oz salsa
Instructions:
Brown the sausage in a skillet and drain off excess grease. Return to pan and add cream cheese until melted. Add salsa and stir until all ingredients are incorporated. Transfer into a serving dish (I keep mine in my crock pot) and serve with scoopable tortilla chips.
No pictures because, honestly, sausage dip ain’t that pretty. Its what’s on the inside that counts.

I do this same recipe only with 1 can of Rotel instead of 8oz of salsa. I always have to double the recipe because it’s always gone! YUMMY!
it’s 1lb sausauge, 8 oz creame cheese and 16 oz salsa. Love mom
