This weekend was all about making progress in our little corner of the world. Patrick and I decorated for our first Christmas together and got (and assembled – thanks Ikea!) our first grown up bed room furniture.
Once we got back to Raleigh on Saturday afternoon we went to work setting up Patrick’s new TV. Know of anyone who wants a big TV? We are giving it away for free to who ever will come and haul that bad boy away. It’s a great TV, but its a monster.
Saturday night we began decorating our tree, only to find out that we were sadly short on lights.
Sunday afternoon we finally got around to putting together our new furniture. Ikea furniture is an adventure. You open up the boxes (that were packed as flat as possible to save you money) and are greeted with 200 tiny pieces of metal, an allen wrench, and a surprising amount of real wood. Two happy mute eunich people walk us through the directions…
…and before we knew it we had some pretty nice (and cheap) bedroom furniture.
Amos helped.
Once it got dark outside, we finished decorating our Christmas tree while watching a show on HGTV about Christmas at Disney World. Bliss.
