I mentioned that I got a sewing machine for Christmas right?  So far with my sewing prowess I have managed to make 2 gift bags, 4 slightly crooked placemats and half a skirt.

That’s right, half a skirt.  I was actually working on it this week, pinning and pressing and trying to follow all the directions, when I got to the part about putting in the zipper.  The instructions casually mentioned changing to your zipper foot to sew it in.  HUH? So, project on hold until tonight when my mom gets to town, shakes her head because her daughter is TWENTY FIVE AND A HALF and can’t sew (really, in my family, this is tragic)  and puts on the stupid zipper foot in three seconds.  Then I get to ask her how to adjust the machine to do the basting stitch.  I hope there’s turkey involved.

But really, I must learn how to work this sewing machine, pronto.  Because these tutorials are really too lovely to not make myself.
